Understanding the History Behind the Minnesota Measles Outbreak

In Minnesota one may find the largest population of Somali Americans. They have a story to tell, which is currently being twisted in the US media in order to drive xenophobia, stir fear and enhance the stock value of drug/vaccine makers.

Watch the film “VAXXED” if you wish to understand that the CDC is aware that African Americans are at heightened risk for autism. Watch the film  if you wish to understand what it means to be “Wakefielded.” Watch the film to understand why parents can no longer get single doses of single, spaced out measles – mumps rubella shots, but instead can only get MMR.  (Merck has a monopoly on the product, by the way. Don’t trust Merck and the FDA and ACIP? Don’t send your kid to school, say some.)

Community fears over “preventable outbreaks” are being stirred and can be felt as far away as Vermont as we prepare for a very special conference on natural health. Many are saying that “children should be vaccinated – all of them buggers!” –  regardless of concerns over lack of liability for drug companies and pediatricians who make blanket recommendations or give double doses by accident. Some history on the “measles outbreak!” (44 cases versus over a million cases of autism in the US):

“I know he’s either some kind of controversial — there [are] a lot of people are saying bad things about him,” Osman said. “At least he’s trying to give us answers and he’s listening to us. We need doctors to listen to us. We live with autism, and to see a doctor who’s out there, giving his time and effort and money to help us, that’s a big thing for me. I am thankful that he’s here and he’s helping us.” … Osman said her perception is that health officials haven’t done enough.” – MPR news
