Richard C. Wasserman, MD, MPH
Professor of Pediatrics, University of Vermont
Director, Pediatric Research in Office Settings (PROS) Network, American Academy of Pediatrics
Dr. Richard C. “Mort” Wasserman has been a general pediatrician in the UVM Department of Pediatrics since 1983, conducting primary care research, teaching, and providing primary care. Dr. Wasserman’s research has focused on using practice-based research networks to better understand and improve the delivery of preventive services and the care of common conditions in pediatric populations. He recently returned from a sabbatical leave at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP), where he investigated the use of EMR data in epidemiological and comparative effectiveness research. While at CHOP, he wrote a grant proposal to create an EMR-based “subnetwork” within Pediatric Research in Office Settings (PROS), the practice-based research network of the American Academy of Pediatrics. That three-year grant was funded by the HRSA Maternal and Child Health Bureau in September of 2010. Source: http://ccts.uvm.edu/web/informatics/grandrounds/20110315
Vermont’s vaccine promoting doctor and his latest “study” on HPV vaccine: “family-focused decision support with educational telephone calls” – http://pediatrics.aappublications.org/content/131/6/1114.abstract
Note that Wasserman wrote “A Pediatrician’s case for mandatory vaccinations…”http://vtdigger.org/2013/02/13/wasserman-a-pediatricians-case-for-mandatory-vaccinations/ which was published not long ago. APparently he would mandate HPV, too.
